Tribecan Rachel Apfel Glass, who founded Glosslab nail salons in 2018, will open a Tribeca outpost next week in the former Gloria Jewel space at 180 West Broadway (between Dry Bar and Starbucks).

Glass opened her first salon in the Flatiron on West 20th, after 10 years in the hedge fund world. Even then her three business concept pillars were hygiene, efficiency and membership — which is paying off now. She then opened another in the West Village. Her backers include the co-founder of Rumble Boxing and a co-founder of Tinder.

The salons are membership based and “waterless” — and I’ll learn what that means when I catch up with her next week! (Teaser: no water = less germs)
