NEW PILATES FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Erika Bloom Pilates, which has studios on the UES, Watermill out east (above), LA and Turks and Caicos is opening a studio on the second floor of 104 Franklin sometime soon. Bloom opened her first studio two decades ago, after a professional dance injury led to intense study in functional medicine and movement methods. More TK.
HIONAS GALLERY REOPENS
Peter Hionas has reopened his eponymous gallery at 94 Walker for the first time since the pandemic with a show titled TEN: a group show of artists working in a variety of media – painting, photography, sculpture and installation – who have previously exhibited at Hionas over the years. The show is up through Dec. 11; gallery hours are Saturday noon to 5 and by appointment.
BUBBY’S AT THE CARLYLE
Bubby’s owner Ron Silver, a prolific painter whose work is also at the restaurant on N. Moore, now has 20 paintings and eight prints on the walls permanently at the newly refurbished Dowling’s restaurant at the Carlyle Hotel on the UES.
SUBTERRANEAN BAR OPEN AT WALKER HOTEL
The hotel had plans for this bar when it opened — and I guess here it is! Saint Tuesday. Will try to get over soon since it looks cool. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 6p to 2a.
