Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Queens on a charge of attempted rape after an incident on the northbound E train on Wednesday at 10 in the morning.
Timothy Thomas was also charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment after he pinned a 21-year-old woman in the corner of the train car as it approached the Canal Street station.

On Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at approximately 1020 hours, the individual approached the 21-year-old female victim inside of a northbound āEā train approaching the Canal Street subway station. The individual proceeded to push the victim into the corner of the train and attempted to rape her. The individual fled the train at the Canal Street subway station toward another train in the station. The victim was evaluated at the scene.
Police used security camera footage at the turnstiles to identify the attacker, and then used CrimeStoppers to find the suspect.
