Town Stages, the event company that took the prominent storefront space on West Broadway and on White, has left the building and the space is now for rent.
This should be welcome news for neighbors, who battled them on and off for a couple years, including during the pandemic.
Town Stages started out in 2017 saying it would be an arts center; when pushed, it turned out to be an event space. Then during the pandemic, the company erected two curbside decks — one on White and one on West Broadway — that were never put into use.
Now we know from the DOT that those decks are not transferable and should be removed before the next tenant takes over the space.
I don’t know this story well – but we need more businesses in general in Tribeca. It’s a ghost town here and commercial and small businesses are leaving by the minute
Respectfully disagree. This was a ghost of a business, offered nothing to the neighborhood.
