MENDES WOOD DM GALLERY COMING TO WALKER
The gallery Mendes Wood DM will open in May at 47 Walker — the old Alexander and Bonin space — moving from its current location in Midtown. The gallery was founded in 2010 by partners Felipe Dmab, Matthew Wood and Pedro Mendes “with the intent to exhibit international and Brazilian artists in a context conducive to critical dialogue and cross-pollination. Central to the gallery’s program is a concern for regional difference and individuation while fostering cosmopolitanism and collaboration.”

JAIL PROTEST TODAY
For you early risers: protestors are assembling this morning at the site of the jail — Centre and White streets — at 6:45a TODAY. They will call for a stop to the construction fences going up on the Centre Street portion of the Manhattan Detention Complex.

TRIVIA NIGHT AT BUBBY’S
E. caught the sign: Bubby’s is now hosting a trivia night on Mondays at 7p. Turns out there is a NYC Trivia League — a network of dozens of bars that compete in seasons that last about 10 weeks. (I had no idea this was organized on this level.) You can read more here, or just put a team of six people together and report back.

THE DEAD RABBIT IN NEW ORLEANS
The Dead Rabbit is expanding to New Orleans — and in 2023 will open a 170-seat restaurant and bar in a 19th century Creole townhouse in the French Quarter. As is the Dead Rabbit trademark, each floor will offer a unique experience. The plans were first announced in October 2019 for a 2020 opening, then the pandemic got in the way.
