I heard back from Christina Andres-Cerutti, who, along with her husband, is opening a second branch of Osteria Carlina in the former Girello space on Varick next to Walker’s. They hope to open in about six months.

Here’s her note:

“We just got the keys last week and are starting work already! We are planning for an open date of late summer/early fall. We have already gotten such a warm response from some people in the neighborhood and can’t wait to open.

“My husband, Moreno [Cerutti], runs San Carlo as an owner with other partners. I work there, helping out.

“Moreno and I dreamed about owning/running our own place together. We opened Osteria Carlina in May, and have been fortunate to have received a wonderful response so far… Osteria Carlina Tribeca is the addition to our little family. :) It is our dream and we are just so overjoyed it is coming to fruition.”

She promised to keep in touch as things progress.
