A SLICE OF BROOKLYN AT THE SEAPORT
Get it? A. wrote to say he did the loop walk around The Battery and noticed that Di Fara Pizza — only the third outpost for the famous Brooklyn pizza company founded in Midwood in 1965 — has opened. It’s at 108 South Street, across from Pier 17, and is open Monday to Thursday, noon to 9p, and Friday to Sunday, noon to 10p. I will get over there soon; in the meantime A. said he got a big slice for $5 and there’s outdoor seating and a bar upstairs. (Interesting and not-local Trump reference in the Instagram caption, but maybe no shocker.)
CITY OF WATER DAY THIS WEEKEND

See more info here.
INDIAN TAKEOVER AT CROWN SHY
On July 11, July 25 and August 8, Crown Shy culinary director Jassimran Singh will swap out the menu and offer an entirely new set menu ($95 per person) featuring the North India-inspired food of his childhood. Jassimran was born in New Delhi; his father’s shop was a few doors from Daryaganj Restaurant, a progenitor of tandoori cooking and the birthplace of butter chicken. When Jassimran was 19, he moved to Australia where he started his career at Maze by Gordon Ramsay. About a decade later, he emigrated to Queens and now here he is, in Fidi.
