SMYTH RESTAURANT COMES BACK TO LIFE
More soon when I can see the interiors, but for now, the Smyth Tavern at the Smyth Hotel on Chambers will soft open August 4 or 5 for dinner. Pending staff and training, restauranteur John McDonald said, they hope to roll out breakfast (!) and lunch in a few weeks. There’s a bit more detail here in the meantime.
PIER 40 WILL GET A NEW CROSSWALK
For you sporty types, NB that Pier 40 will soon have a new crosswalk at what would be Charlton Street, just south of the pier shed but north of the tennis courts. The Citi Bike station will move here too.

TRIBECA PAC IS OPEN
The Tribeca Performing Arts Center at BMCC is back open — has been for a bit — and has some fun stuff on the calendar: Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, a break dancing tournament, comedian Max Amini, and in the fall, the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater. See the list here.
