The Friends of Washington Market Park hosted their annual events — and they were bigger than ever. There were more than 100 entries in the Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday night — not to mention some serious creative efforts. And the parade on Sunday attracted hoards, led by the always genius Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps — which has a new name! NB: The Queer Big Apple Corps. Love.
See the pumpkin winners on the Friends’ Instagram here. And see the coverage from BuzzFeed here — scroll through the competition from Socrates Sculpture Park to see a big photo spread on Tribeca. (And thanks to E, M and C for the photos!)
Local business owners Elisa Marshall from Maman and Megan Lucas-Chong from Cocoon were on hand to judge the dozens of entries. From Elisa: “It was a lot of fun & SO HARD!!!”
