A. called to say that Executive Cleaners, which has been installed down the alley of 310 Greenwich for what he thinks was at least a dozen years, has been pushed out of the building — he thinks — to make room for a bigger package room.

The owner, Danny, was ready to retire anyway, but still I would think it’s a loss for IPN residents. (A. did say that the building lobby is an explosion of Amazon and Gopuff boxes, so they may indeed need a bigger package room.) Of course this is not a good era for dry cleaners. Before West Broadway Cleaners closed, their staff had been reduced from 9 people to 1.

A relative of Danny’s owns New Trio Cleaners, at 395 Greenwich, so he is sending business over there. There is also:

West Broadway Cleaners, which had to close its location at Warren during the pandemic and move to 49 Warren, between West Broadway and Church
Murray Cleaners at 275 Greenwich, just south of Warren

Kim’s Cleaners at 482 Greenwich at Canal
