…And I received a cryptic AND off-the-record reply from “Clint Mario” via email, but it revealed nothing! So the mystery continues. (Though he did say that David’s explanation below is not correct…)

His name is Clint Mario – Great guy who passed away maybe 5ish years ago. The art was created a few years before that, by an acquaintance of his :) https://www.instagram.com/clintmario/?hl=en
