J. wrote this week and I could hear the panic in his voice: “Do you have any info? Marc Forgione on Reade appears to have closed. I understand it was due to change locations to a new site on Hudson. Can you find out anything about timing / details?”

Marc is moving the restaurant to 30 Hudson, the former Brushstroke space (below). And he had emailed back in November with this: “Still a moving target. But looking like spring.”

But they are also renovating Reade Street: “Our location at Reade Street has not closed permanently,” Marc’s management folks said. “We are temporarily closed for renovations until the end of next month and then we will have an update on the timing of moving to Hudson Street shortly after we reopen.”

In the meantime if you are jonesing, you can visit the new One Fifth that Marc just reopened or Peasant in Nolita.
