NEW FLOORS FOR NINJA
N. sent this good bird’s eye of the cement truck loading in at OrangeTheory at 25 Hudson just north of Morgan’s, the old underground Ninja space. Their PR folks don’t answer emails, so for now it is still just “Coming Soon.”
CYNTHIA TALMADGE AT BORTOLAMI
Bortolami gallery will host Cynthia Talmadge’s “Goodbye To All This: Alan Smithee Off Broadway” through Feb. 25 at The Upstairs at 39 Walker. “Alan Smithee” is a pseudonym used by Hollywood directors to remove their names from movies over which they have lost creative control. In this exhibition Cynthia Talmadge animates Smithee, imagining him in the mid-1980s as a down-on-his-luck, middle-aged baby boomer, trying, elaborately but ineptly, to revive a career defined by burned bridges, bad behavior, and commercial failure.
ROBBY AMEEN WITH CONRAD HERWIG AT DJANGO
Tribecan and jazz drummer Robby Ameen will be playing every Tuesday through the end of March at the Roxy Hotel’s Django with Conrad Herwig’s Latin Side All-Stars. Sets are at 7 and 9p. See more on the band at The New Yorker and details on the shows here.

But then the restaurant’s Instagram says the opposite. If you care, you can get into the nitty gritty with a story from Eater here
