The ping pong facility SPiN, which has a couple locations in the city as well as several across the US, is opening at the former Bobby Van’s at 25 Broad and Exchange Place. The actress Susan Sarandon was one of the founding partners of the company when it was started in the Flatiron in 2009.

They were before CB1 in November and I just now listened to the meeting. They must be moving along by now… The space is 5600 square feet, but just has seating for 68 — the capacity is 134.

Most of their clientele are companies and employers in the neighborhood. It’s a work-event driven business, similar to a billiards bar. They rent the tables by the hour for about $50.

Hours are 8a to midnight, Monday to Thursday; till 1a on weekend nights.
