EDITH’S COMING TO TRIBECA?
Edith’s Eatery and Grocery, the bagel sandwich takeout spot in Williamsburg that opened just a year ago, is coming to Tribeca — but I am not sure where. Anyone got a guess? From Instagram: “As we prepare to take on Manhattan and the opportunity to expand the presence of our sandwich counter, May 28th will be our last day at 312 Leonard street…L-Train won’t be able to stop us now, get ready Tribeca!” They are closing their restaurant so they can build the brand. Looks like it could upgrade breakfast around here…
DAILY GROCER CLOSES — FOR NOW
I knew it was a popup, but I was hoping we would get a few more weeks out of it. The Daily Grocer, which was preparing meal kits out of a storefront on West Broadway, will close after tomorrow. Tribecan Lee Weiss, who runs it with chef Aaron Abramson, said they are in the process of finding a permanent home in the neighborhood and hope to offer more in the fall: a bigger to-go menu, curated pantry staples and maybe even craft beer.
L’ANGOLO’S NEW SPOT OPENS THIS WEEK
Osteria Nonnino, the new location for the folks from L’Angolo, will open Tuesday, according to A. who sent a note. The new spot is on Hudson and Jane.

“Shelley Niro: 500 Year Itch” celebrates more than a half century of Niro’s paintings, photographs, mixed-media works and films at the Museum of the American Indian through Jan. 1. “Accessible, humorous, and peppered with references to popular culture, Niro’s art delves into the timeless cultural knowledge and generational histories of her Six Nations Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawk) community to provide purpose and healing.”

The old Baked space, maybe?
Good thought! That might explain the H&H bagel sign…
I want to give a shout out to The Daily Grocer. Their meal kits were excellent, easy to prepare, reasonably priced and delicious. I hope they will be able to remain in the neighborhood.
