SUSHI ICHIMURA OPENING JUNE 20
The folks at L’Abeille will open their newest venture, Sushi Ichimura, in the space just south of the restaurant on Greenwich and Hubert on June 20. More soon when I can get a peek inside. But in the meantime this will feature the work of master sushi chef Eiji Ichimura (formerly Brushstroke, Uchu) who will offer his signature edomae-style omakase featuring fish and ingredients sourced directly from Japan. The space has 10 seats and the meal is more than 12 (!) courses all served on rare Japanese lacquerware, 200+ year old antique plateware and custom serveware made exclusively for Sushi Ichimura by some of Japan’s most prominent artists, including: Shiro Tsujimura, Makoto Yamaguchi and Tomonori Koyama. Holy cow.
PORTSIDE OPEN AT BROOKFIELD
Brookfield’s outdoor tables are now open on the plaza in front of the Winter Garden. They have programming there all summer (see the calendar here) and while it doesn’t look it, it is free to enter and free to bring in food. There is also food and drink to order available from Tartinery.
TWO MORE LUNCHTIME CONCERTS
The Downtown Alliance will host two more lunchtime concerts: June 14: Kalí Rodríguez-Peña’s Mélange at 200 Water and June 21: Willerm Delisfort Project at Cortlandt Way. See more info here.

Hopefully Sushi Ichimura isn’t another L’abeille where you spend $500+ and leave hungry
It will be $600+ with sake….and I ate at L’abeille when it first opened and also left hungry. I need to try the re-opened Azabu, where the counter Omakase is a “reasonable” $300. TBH Sushi is out of control expensive in this city.
According to RESY, Sushi Ichimura is $425 per person. Reservations are fully prepaid and non-refundable if you change or cancel. The first available reservation is July 5.
