L’ABEILLE BABY SISTER OPENS NEXT WEEK
The team behind the Michelin-starred l’abeille will open l’abeille à côté — a more casual restaurant located just south through a secret hallway (and just north of their new sushi restaurant Sushi Ichimura) — on August 9. The menu is playful and sharable and still Japanese: fried chicken, Wagyu beef teriyaki burger, french fries, soufflé cheesecake with homemade jam and vanilla crème fraîche from Osaka, Japan. The space has 20 seats and an exposed wine room with 300 bottles. More TK.
HIP HOP’S 5OTH DANCE PARTY
Battery Park City will host an outdoor dance party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip hop on Saturday, August 5, at 7p on Esplanade Plaza with DJ Suzan Z Anthony spinning the classics. Pro dancers will demonstrate moves. More info here.

Nice to see L’abeille launch a somewhat affordable menu. With now 3 restaurants in the neighborhood it’s important that we don’t overrun the area with insanely priced eats. Hopefully dish sizes won’t suffer here
Hopefully L’abeille and others will start using DSNY mandated closed containers when placing their restaurant refuse on the sidewalk?
