In the News: A peek inside Taylor Swift’s Franklin Street apartment

TAYLOR’S COZY TOWNHOUSE
The Post compiled some pictures assembled from social media posts that they say show the inside of Taylor Swift’s two buildings on Franklin Street. (Last I checked she had the one smaller building and two floors on the bigger one on the right, all connected.)

STORES BACK IN SUBWAYS?
Crain’s reports that the MTA is going to reactivate the stores in the subways — I still miss our guy at Chambers and West Broadway. Only 57 of the 200 stores have operators currently. The MTA says it is looking for ‘creative ideas from community partners’ so not sure what that means.

MELISSA JOSEPH AT MARGOT SAMEL
WNYC has a feature on the Brooklyn artist Melissa Joseph, who has a show at the Margot Samel gallery here. Her new show, Irish Exit, displays new work inspired by photographs of her family to explore her Irish and Indian heritage and features felt, ceramics and paper pulp pieces.

POLICE OFFICERS PARKING ON SIDEWALKS
This isn’t local, but we can relate: Crain’s reports that an NYPD police officer will pay a fine and lose vacation days for falsely impersonating a 311 operator in an attempt to discourage a man from reporting illegal parking at the 84th Precinct. “The officer, John Madera, admitted to targeting Justin Sherwood, who filed 901 complaints to 311 over the course of nine months in 2021 about police officers parking their personal cars on sidewalks and in bike lanes near NYPD precincts…Like many around the city, the precinct is surrounded by fleets of parked cars that can render sidewalks impassable for pedestrians.”
