In the News: Governors Island will get a hybrid ferry

GOVERNORS ISLAND WILL GET HYBRID FERRY
Gothamist reports that a federal grant from the Biden administration will go towards a hybrid-electric ferry for Governors Island, and will reduce the city’s carbon dioxide emissions by 800 tons a year. “The city’s annual greenhouse gas emissions hit more than 50 million metric tons in 2021, according to data shared by the New York City comptroller’s office. The city has also set an ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emission by 80% by 2050.”

ROEBLING PENTHOUSE GOES FOR $16 MILLION
The Post reports that the penthouse at 169 Hudson, the Roebling Building, which has an infinity rooftop pool, sold recently for $16 million to Daniel Winer, an entrepreneur and co-founder of chef Gordon Ramsay’s favorite cookware brand, HexClad. (The building was a warehouse for Brooklyn Bridge designer John Roebling’s steel cable and wire rope manufacturing business in 1912.)
