SEEKING USED BIKES FOR BIKE LIBRARY
Students at Stuyvesant High School’s Biking Club, StuyBike, have started a bike library, with the hopes to build it and store it locally so kids and eventually community members could check out a bike. They are also looking for a local spot to store the bikes. (I guess they can’t do that at the school? Too bad, since it’s a great idea.) If you have a bike to donate, contact stuybiking2023@gmail.com.

SIX DEGREES OF KEVIN BACON AT AMERICAN CUT
American Cut was the scene of an event honoring Kevin Bacon and his non-profit, SixDegrees, hosted by Haute Living and coinciding with the the 40th anniversary of “Footloose.” The organization will support youth empowerment, justice, equality and sustainability and will create at least 40,000 backpack kits that include snacks, books, writing tools, water and more. The organization will also provide unsolicited grants to people who seek to make changes in their local communities.
Wow. Can’t believe it’s been 31 years since the first attack. Almost as much as I still can’t believe the towers are gone…
Incidentally, the bacon at American Cut is delicious. Grilled with onion.
