Seen & Heard: Raoul’s founder has died

RAOUL’S FOUNDER HAS DIED
Serge Raoul, one of the two brothers who founded the famed restaurant on Prince Street in 1975, has died, the restaurant announced on Instagram. Eater has since run an great obit, which notes that Raoul was a gifted yet accidental restaurateur, discovered Thomas Keller, and went on to open two other restaurants — one in Bali and one in Nyack, as well as a hotel in New Mexico. From Eater: “In 2014, his son, Karim, took over the operations at the original Raoul’s, at 180 Prince Street, at Sullivan Street, where his father’s legacy remains. The restaurant will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.”

TRIBECA BEAUTY SPA HAS CLOSED
Tribeca Beauty Spa on Harrison has sadly closed, but it’s founder sent around each of the staff’s emails in a PDF image. I think you should be able to read them using this image…
