Dan Aykroyd explains further in the trailer below: the Death Chill has fallen over Ladder 8 on N. Moore, as a teaser to the upcoming release of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” on March 22. Both S. and W. sent a bunch of pics — I am running them all because they are cool.
The firehouse’s transformation is of course a promotion for the movie, but it is also decor for the FDNY’s family event on March 16 — a fundraiser for the FDNY Foundation. From 11a to 2p on Saturday, the Ectomobile will be there along with movie set food trucks, musical performances, the FDNY mascot and fire safety drills. The event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $50 per person or $100 per family. Funds raised will go towards fire safety education and prevention in Bronx Community District 5.
The movie stars our own (well, formerly our own) Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, and returning stars Bill Murray, Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
