The sculptor helped define Tribeca as a haven for artists in those pioneering days of the 1970s. creating a studio and a home out of a building on Duane Street.

PROPOSAL TO ADD 287 BROADWAY TO THE HISTORIC REGISTER
The former leaning tower of Tribeca was added to the city’s list of landmarks in 1989, and now is on a list for the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
