Seen & Heard: Concerts in Washington Market Park

CONCERTS COMING TO WASHINGTON MARKET PARK
The Friends of Washington Market Park will host its annual concerts this year on Thursdays June 13 and 20, from 5 to 6:30p. June 13 is Johnny Hirsch Band, and June 20 is Rolie Polie Guacamole, the latter of which was sponsored by JCP Downtown.

PORTSIDE IS OPEN AT BROOKFIELD
Portside, the seating area on the plaza at North Cove Marina, is open now through October. The seating is free and open to the public, but there are also cocktails and bites from the Tartinery Shack right there, and programming throughout the season.

THOMAS AND GALLANT IN SHOW AT GIBNEY DANCE
Tribecans and dancers Loretta Thomas and Catherine Gallant have choreographed pieces that will show at the Gibney Performing Arts Center on Chambers May 31 through June 2. Thomas has Moving Visions Studio on Murray, which served the children and adult community for 25 years, and Gallant was the dance teacher at PS89 from the time the school opened in the late 1990s until January 2024.   1. Does anyone know why Brookfield had roped off the Portside area and posts security guards at both sides during the day? I’m wondering what the public access is to the space or not as it is fully roped off late into the mornings each day
