Restaurant Week starts today

Tracy Nieporent of Tribeca Grill, Nobu and beyond sent his bi-annual note: the summer version of Restaurant Week starts today, or as Tracy said, it’s the time of year when the Culinary Gods say “Let there be NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2024″ and we comply. It runs through August 18 so it’s really Restaurant Month.

Citywide there are about 600 restaurants in 70 neighborhoods and the discounted meals are served Monday to Friday, with Sundays optional. In Tribeca we have American Cut Steakhouse, Frenchette, Gran Morsi, Pepolino, Smyth Tavern, Tamarind Tribeca, Thalassa, Tribeca Grill, Warren Street Bar & Restaurant. The list for Fidi is even bigger, so check it here under “Lower Manhattan” since I am bound to leave someone out. And the folks at Eataly Soho sent a note to say they are participating too.

There are two-course lunches and three-course dinners and the price points are $30, $45 and $60. Not everyone is serving lunch, however, and check the prices on all before you go.

The tradition goes back to summer 1992.

  1. Anyone else have an issue with restaurant “week” lasting 3 weeks? I wish my week of vacation lasted that long.
