FISH MARKET POP UP ON CANAL
The streetwear brand Market has opened a pop-up on Canal and Broadway, designed to look like a fishing and hunting store. Open till the end of the summer, there are collabs with other designers on Tshirts, hats, etc and “a hidden Secret Club room where you can find all the bootlegs your heart desires.” The company was called Chinatown Market until 2021, when a Change.org petition pushed them to change the name, stating, “The concept of Chinatown is not for sale, especially not by a white person who only uses the word Chinatown as a synonym for bootleg.” The company will donate proceeds of the store profits to Welcome To Chinatown’s Longevity Fund, which provides grants to Chinatown small businesses.

The Octopus sculpture will be there until July 31, 2025, not this Wednesday.
So first they steal the name “Chinatown” and then they steal the logo of Bass Pro Shops.
