Seen & Heard: A new restaurant from Jungsik

NEW RESTAURANT FROM JUNGSIK
Chef Jungsik Yim, the founder of the two-starred Jungsik on Hudson, has opened SEA along with executive chef Jun Hee Park on West 30th Street. Chef Yim has traveled extensively through Southeast Asia, and has opened the new restaurant as a tribute to its diversity of exciting flavors: pungent, salty, sweet, spicy. SEA has a raw bar, small plates and shareable plates, along with a beverage program. They will expand to the downstairs next year with an open kitchen and a 15-seat counter for special dinners, The Times said.

A DIEHARD METS FAN AMONG US
Tribeca Grill’s Tracy Nieporent gets interviewed by New York Mets historian and long term public relations director Jay Horwitz at Citi Field. He’s been a fan since the very very beginning — even before Shea Stadium. (Tracy is so quick and so fun, it’s worth a watch, especially if you are a fan of the orange and blue yourself.) His father took him to a double header at the Polo Grounds when he was 9 years old on August 4, 1962; the second game went into the 14th inning and he never left his seat. He’s been dedicated ever since. “I have a natural inclination to root for the underdogs,” he says. “We all have a met-abolism [get it?]… I take a medication to maintain my sugar called Metformin. If they called it Yankeeformin, I wouldn’t take it.”

  1. Hi Tracy,
Great to hear your still pitching. I went to the polo grounds in the
Late50 ‘s. Still miss willie in centerfield. Pissed when they moved in 1958 and followed the dodger’s west.
    All the best,
    Bob
