Seen & Heard: Casa opening soon

CASA OPENING SOON
I heard back from Jupira Lee, the owner of Casa, the Brazilian restaurant coming to the former Khe-Yo space on Duane. She hopes to be open by the end of the month. “We are painting anything black to white and transforming the restaurant to our Casa white look,” she wrote, with lots of white heart emojis. “We want to open asap! And enjoy the wonderful fall nights with everyone!”

LOFT PEEPER ON THE MARKET
The 8 Thomas Street penthouse loft of industrial engineer Jane Boon and former Time Inc. executive Norman Pearlstine. It’s the top three floors of that cute building next to the McDonald’s, and was a Loft Peeping feature in 2016. It’s for sale for $4.75 million.

  1. This is the best news I’ve heard all year. I was such a fan of the original Casa and found that they were so underrated. Strong caipirinhas, to-die-for feijoada, and flavor-packed stroganoff. The atmosphere was light and airy with the most elegant charm. A perfect restaurant that seemed to always attract locals. I can’t wait to try the new location.
