HAL BROMM CURATING ART AUCTION
Longtime Tribecan and gallerist Hal Bromm has curated “Loud & Proud: LGBTQ+ Art,” an auction series launching on October 22 and presented by Rago, Wright and LAMA. Bromm has long been a champion for queer artists and gave Keith Haring his first solo exhibition. The series celebrates the creativity and impact of LGBTQ+ artists from the late 1800s to today. The auction will feature over 100 works, including pieces by Nan Goldin, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and David Wojnarowicz (image above). The collection will be on display at Rago/Wright’s gallery at 501 West 20th until the 22nd.

The Friends of Washington Market Park are hosting a community clean-up day tomorrow, Saturday, October 19, from 11a to noon. Gloves and bags provided. (And how special is that picture from M??)

The remnant mosaic fire hydrant is from the artist Judy Robertson who created the amazing mosaic canopy for el teddy’s when it was owned by Christopher Chestnut. He tried to have the building historically landmarked but was unsuccessful.
