Meadow Lane will open in March

Meadow Lane, a prepared foods marketplace coming to the former Chanson space on Harrison and Greenwich, sent me a note (I must have filled out the form last May??) that says they will open in March. (The original target was winter 2025.) “Due to an issue out of our control our opening is delayed,” they wrote. They will offer grab-and-go, prepared meals, produce, floral arrangements, smoothies, pastries and catering.

Last May, when they first papered the windows, P. found their Instagram but there was little else online; now they have a website that lists the menu (breakfast, salads, bowls, deli salads, sides, entrees, desserts) and some more details: a Michelin-starred veteran chef and culinary director; partnerships with local farms; a coffee, tea and matcha bar; smoothies and juices made to order; rotations of bone broth in the winter and frozen yogurt in the summer.

From the renderings it looks like they will also be a small market, and they said they will stock snacks, staple items, frozen foods, etc — all in shelves and cabinets custom built in Italy (!). The floral studio will have arrangements, custom orders and weekly floral house accounts.

Now we can see why they were not able to open immediately: for the third time in nine years, that space has been completely gutted. Working backwards, Chanson closed last July; they had taken the Maison Kayser space in June 2020 and opened a year later, after gutting what was a very nice space. Maison Kayser closed in September 2019; they opened in 2015. The Harrison closed in late 2014.
