Seen & Heard: Winter sing at Duane Park

DUANE PARK WINTER SING
The folks at Friends of Duane Park will host a Winter Sing on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 5:30, featuring kids from the Church Street School of Music & Art.

SANTA VILLAGE ON WARREN
S. sent these shots of Santa’s Village assembled in the lobby of the townhouse at 24 Warren, just east of Church. I am pretty sure this will be activated with live human entertainment the night of their holiday party…

SPILL-OVER PACKAGE ROOM FOR IPN
Amazon wins: if I am right in my guess, this is a package room for 310 Greenwich, which means their lobby — and probably their porters — could not handle the stream of packages coming through right now. (The DOT said the city will receive 2.5 million packages A DAY this holiday season.)

A SCARY SUBWAY ENCOUNTER
W. wrote earlier this month to tell me about a scary encounter at the Canal Street station of the A/C/E, and I share it here because, well, it happens and as W. said, “Unsettling things can happen everywhere, even in Tribeca, it’s good to remember to remain alert.” A man had just come down the stairs and he saw me approaching his direction. He stopped walking and slowly turned to watch me walk up the stairs. He followed her up the stairs and onto the street until she ducked into the Roxy. “I let it go, but woke up thinking about it in the middle of the night – has this man done this before? Is he more dangerous than just a ‘creep’? Is he always around that station?” She eventually called 911, but by then the guy was gone. Police said they would take note.
