YogaSpark will close at the end of the month

YogaSpark owner Lauren Porat has decided to close her business that has been on Duane for the past eight years — and it’s a real loss. The last day will be Jan. 29. (Fuze House — the infrared-heated Pilates and sculpt workout out of Miami — has taken the space.)

“We are beyond honored that YogaSpark has been, for so many people, their safe and sweaty haven away from the chaos of NYC and your busy lives,” she wrote in an email to her yogis. “We are so grateful for every single person who came through our doors, as well as our staff and instructors, whose excellence in the field is unparalleled.

However, she said, “as all New Yorkers know and feel, the cost of operations has risen significantly. It’s unfortunate, but it’s out of our control.”

There is good news for the business: her original location in Mamaroneck is “still rockin'” and plans for another location in Darien are underway. And she will continue her classes on YogaSpark Digital.

For the rest of the month, mat and towel rentals are free for all; class credits will expire on Jan. 29; if you want to renew for the rest of the month, they will prorate the fee.

“It has been an incredible and memorable experience for all of us,” Lauren said. “We’ve held space for each other. We’ve become stronger and more present. We’ve seen each other through college send offs, babies, career changes, and so much more. It’s been a wild ride. Thank you thank you thank you for joining us.”

  1. When will the Fuze House open? I couldn’t find any information confirming this location becoming a Fuze House online…
