ILYA MOVING TO 57 CHAMBERS
Ilya Ilyayev, whose customers often know him as Leo and who had to close his longtime shop at the corner building at Lispenard and Church, has taken a space at 57 Chambers. He will open in February and I will check in then too. His number has stayed the same while he has been working out of Royal on Broadway: 212-431-3984

AIRE ANCIENT BATHS EXPANDING TO UES
AIRE Ancient Baths is adding a second location at 305 East 61st Street, in a building that is over 120 years old that was most recently the main storage facility for MoMA. They will have 9,600 square feet and its salt bath, the Flotarium, will be suspended from the ceiling.

MILU OPENING AT BROOKFIELD PLACE
Milu — pronounced “mee-loo” and meaning “rice road” — the casual Chinese restaurant from former Eleven Madison Park chef Connie Chung, has signed a 5-year lease for a 690-square-foot space in Hudson Eats at Brookfield Place and will open in February. Other soon-to-opens are Daily Provisions and Carrot Express. More when they open.

REGINALD BAYLOR AT FRIEDRICHS PONTONE
Friedrichs Pontone gallery will host a show of Reginald Baylor, a contemporary artist known for his bold, geometric works that combine elements of abstraction, Pop Art, and Black cultural identity, starting Jan. 9. A self-taught painter, Baylor began his artistic journey studying sculpture at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh before shifting his focus to painting. Up till Feb. 8.
