Cheryl Hazan, who has had her eponymous gallery of contemporary art on N. Moore since 2001, will move the gallery to Bucks County, PA, in March. It’s been a nearly 25-year run, and Hazan must be noted as one of the gallery pioneers, along with Tribecan Zesty Meyers and Evan Snyderman of R & Company and the late Jung Lee Sanders of Art Projects International on Greenwich.
Cheryl wrote in her announcement that the move was sort of organic: she has had a home in Bucks County for two decades, and in In 2020, established an artist residency there: “The residency has taken form, has received great acclaim, and has emerged into something unexpected.”
“My great joy in working closely with artists, to discover emerging artist talents, is what has now become my joy and what I believe the right path for me moving forward,” she wrote. “It gives me the opportunity to be hands on with artists’ visions, techniques, spontaneity, and genius — while giving them a space to work and create.”
She will still have an online presence and will establish a small viewing room in the city.
“I loved every second of the work we accomplished and the joy of placing millions of dollars of art in amazing places,” she said. “This is not the end — this is the beginning of something new, fresh, and exciting.”
Sorry to hear the gallery is leaving Tribeca. Best wishes in her new endeavor Bucks County is beautiful
