It was just a matter of time: a new company called Pickle1 has rented 5000 square feet in 100 Pearl, between William and Broad, according to CityBiz. The facility will have three courts that they plan to open this summer.
Fidi also has Court16 around the corner, and there are other indoor spots — CityPickle, Penn1 — but not a ton, especially given the appetite.
The space will be on the ground floor and will have 24-foot high ceilings and lots of light. They took a lease for 10 years. Open Squash opened in the building in 2022.
Expected to open in Summer 2025, Pickle1 will be one of New York City’s premier pickleball clubs, with a light-filled space featuring three professional indoor courts with 24-ft high ceilings and a modern design. The addition of Pickle1 marks a dynamic expansion of the building’s sports offerings, joining the already established OPEN Squash facilities, which moved into the building in 2022.
They will offer memberships, but that’s not required to play. Membership gets you priority booking and discounted court reservations and merchandise. Court reservations will be $120/hour for peak hours and $80/hour for non-peak.
