Terry’s deli, which has been on Chambers and River Terrace for 25 years, has closed. Their last day was Feb. 21.
“It was a very difficult decision for us to make, but one that needed to be made,” Michael Sims Jr. said in a note on the door to their “incredibly valued customers.” “It has been our absolute pleasure serving our community,” they said. “We’ve made countless friends and valued relationships throughout our time with residents, students, nearby building employees, local office workers and many more.
“We wholeheartedly thank you for your many years of support.”
The 24-hour deli nearby on North End Avenue, the Battery Park City Gourmet Market, is still open. But still, this has to be a big blow to BPC residents. It certainly is for all of us who used the Rockefeller playgrounds over the years.
