Construction is underway for what workers tell me will be a new restaurant. They did not have a name, and there’s no application in for a liquor license yet, but this is nice news for that strip across from Barnett Newman Triangle.

This was last Shigure Sake Bar, which closed in 2022 after 15 years in that spot. It looks like the new operators have already scrubbed the space — it was super charming and rustic in there before, with a brass bar and exposed brick. Below it was the bar B Flat, which was the last entity to get a liquor license (in 2016) at that address.
