A young NYU graduate with connections to the luxury resale market in Europe and beyond has opened A.Little Pink, a boutique Filene’s in a generous storefront on Franklin.
On my first visit, I couldn’t quite figure it out, and Google turns up nothing. But on the second time around I met owner Alocasia Chen, who has been reselling luxury goods on WeChat for years and decided to try opening a storefront. If you are interested in luxury fashion, it is a treasure trove. But like Filene’s, there’s just one of everything, so it requires some luck.
A little sample: a cotton and wool navy wrap coat from The Row was retailing at $2690 is selling there for $620. Those stilettos in the photo below, usually sold at Bendel’s, are 50 percent off — selling on Franklin Street for $2000. The Louis Vuitton Alma PM handbags were $980; they are $2,620.00 on the LV site. A lot of the items are priced, but some we had to look up — like the Celine coat, which was now $486, from $4000, or the Gucci backpack with the Yankees logo on the front for $620.
The store will add a coffee shop in two weeks selling Luckin Coffee, a Chinese coffeehouse and coffee roaster founded in Beijing in 2017 that now has 10,000 stores in China.
Alocasia plans to host pop-ups for brands — there’s plenty of room — and she will also help people search for vintage items or hard to find items on the secondary market, if you come with a picture.
She’s aware it’s quiet on the side streets of Tribeca, but that’s what she wanted. “Everyone goes to Soho but I wanted a quieter place for people to shop,” she said.
