HOBBY LOBBY GETTING BOLDER
Thanks to J. for this shot of the Hobby Lobby Warren Street signage. Still no word from the mother ship on an opening date, and nothing on their website about an opening…
394 BROADWAY FRESHENS UP ITS FACADE
J. sent this shot of the newly refurbished facade of 394 Broadway, which has been covered up for a while. Andrew Kreps Gallery is in that space.
ARTIST TALK WITH LINDA GOTTESFELD
Tribecan and painter Linda Gottesfeld will be in conversation with Kathy Butterly on Saturday, April 5, at 3 pm, at the George Adams Gallery, where her show is extended until April 12. More info here.
COOL BIRD!
S. sent in this great shot of what I think is some sort of hawk (any birders out there?) perched on his terrace at Independence Plaza.
This is only one instance of the far right actions of Hobby Lobby:

Even ICE knows Hobby Lobby is dirty!?!:

…and LGBTQ discrimination based on their deeply held far right religious beliefs:

That bird is a an American kestrel.
The bird looks like an American Kestrel – North America’s smallest and most widespread falcon.
Cornell University’s department of ornithology has a great, free bird identification app called Merlin. It walks you through a series of questions about the bird and its activity and then suggests several birds (with photos and additional information) that meets the criteria you’ve input. It can also listen to a bird call or use your photo for identification. It’s great for travel too because it has a large number of additional “packs” you can download that include the birds of specific countries and regions around the world.
Wow that signage is ugly…
It’s a male American Kestrel.
Imagine spending millions of dollars to live above such an ugly sign that represents such an awful company. Honestly I feel bad for the residents of 99 and 101 Warren who probably had no idea they would be living above the most MAGA stores in Tribeca- Hobby Lobby and Whole Foods/Amazon
I saw that sign the other day and thought it looked out of proportion compared to all the other commercial signs on the building. I’m not sure why the building didn’t restrict it somewhat. It’s an eyesore. I don’t plan to shop there; Michael’s in Chelsea sits better with me.
