THE SUN COMES OUT ON HUDSON & BEACH
D. sent this photo and news that the sidewalk shed at 129 Hudson at Beach — Bright Horizons is in the ground floor among others — is being dismantled. That’s an old one — though I cannot place the date.

HUDSON SQUARE BID COLLECTS DATA ON TREES
The Hudson Square Business Improvement District has launched a citizen science initiative for the month of April to collect detailed environmental data from the neighborhood’s 500+ trees. The BID had a program called the Hudson Square Standard that created bigger tree pits and permeable pavers designed to give roots more room to grow, supporting healthier trees that live longer. Now they are asking volunteers to measure tree diameter and assess the permeable pavers to evaluate stormwater absorption capacity, so the success of the project can be measured and then replicated in the future. Those interested in volunteer opportunities can contact Hudson Square BID at info@hudsonsquarebid.org.
