EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT GOTHAM PARK
Gotham Park will host an Earth Day Celebration this Saturday, April 26, 9a to 1:30p between Park Row and Rose Street beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. There will be traditional Chinese dance and Kung Fu classes, as well as planting opportunities and litter collection and yoga. Register here.

MIREYA RAMOS AT THE IRISH HUNGER MEMORIAL
Mireya Ramos, the Latin Grammy winning vocalist and founder of Flor de Toloache, Mireya Ramos, will perform on Thursday, May 1, 6:30p, at the Irish Hunger Memorial Plaza. RSVP to the free event here. Ramos incorporates classical, mariachi, salsa, merengue and hip-hop in her music, and her improvisational skills and beautiful tone has made her one of the top Latin artists in the city.

GOVERNORS ISLAND ARTS SEASON STARTS SOON
Just putting this on everyone’s radar: Governors Island Arts today has launched its summer public artworks and performances season, with a kick-off celebration scheduled for May 17. The season is anchored by Rest/Play, a new group exhibition that explores the intersection of art, design and public space, alongside the INTERVENTIONS performance series, which will feature the US premiere of Laura Cemin and Bianca Hisse’s “How the Land Lies” and the New York City premiere of Touki Delphine’s “Firebird.” The Organizations in Residence program will have 24 arts organizations in the island’s historic houses with installations, residencies, workshops and other public programs.
