MAGNOLIA PLANTED AT PS 234 GARDEN
Always love to see this: workers were planting a nice sized magnolia tree in the PS 234 garden on Greenwich. Shout out to the volunteer gardeners there who do such a great job, especially given the challenges at that site.

SPEAKER SERIES AT PINE STREET SCHOOL
Pine Street School (at Pine and Nassau) will kick off its free Spring Speaker Series tonight, Monday, April 28, at 5:30p with Dylan Dreyer, co-host of NBC’s 3rd Hour of TODAY, meteorologist, children’s author and mother of three! She’ll share how parenting shaped her journey into children’s books and how stories can build empathy, resilience and emotional intelligence in young kids. PARKS BRASS VISITS WASHINGTON MARKET PARK
The Friends of Washington Market Park’s It’s My Park Day event got an Earth Day visit from the Parks Department’s Manhattan Borough Commissioner Tricia Shimamura and Operations Deputy Chief Ralph Musolino, along with City Councilman Chris Marte, park gardener Richie Haugland (who retires next week) and Friends co-president Erica Martini.

COUNCIL CANDIDATE SEEKING INTERN
The campaign of Elizabeth Lewinsohn, who is running for the City Council District 1 seat, is searching for unpaid campaign interns to join our team for the next weeks leading up to the June 24 primary for an minimum of 10 hours per week. Interns may be able to receive college credit or reported volunteer hours. The interns’ roles will include virtual and in-person event planning, volunteer training, campaign data analysis, thank you note processes, and phone bank management.
