Seen & Heard: Taste of Tribeca is May 17

TASTE IS SET FOR MAY 17
I wondered if tickets were on sale for Taste and in fact they are: early bird general admission tickets are available until May 16 here. The 31st annual neighborhood restaurant festival, which benefits PS 234 and PS 150, will be rain or shine on Saturday, May 17, 11:30a to 3p, on Greenwich and Duane streets, which are closed for the day. Tickets are $68 and get you six “tastes” from any booth. There are also tables in the premium seating tent, which gets your tastes delivered: six-seater tables are $1,200 each and four-seater tables are $800 each. More info here.

DINE AROUND DOWNTOWN IS JUNE 11
Dine Around Downtown, the Taste equivalent for Fidi hosted by the Downtown Alliance at Fosun Plaza, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 11a to 2:30. Sample signature dishes go for $5 to $10, and cash is preferred. ATMs are located nearby the plaza. More info here.

PINE STREET SCHOOL x GERMAN SCHOOL MANHATTAN
German School Manhattan, the preschool through fifth grade program on Warren, has created a partnership with the Pine Street Middle School, so that families can have a German option Downtown. Pine Street has added a new German language track to its middle school in Fidi. “GSM is now an IB school and so is Pine Street, so it kind of makes sense!” said German School director Julia Stratmann.

NO DATE YET FOR NONNA DORA
Because folks have asked, I asked, and the Nonna Dora people who have taken the big space at 200 Church said: “We have no date yet. Check back in mid-May.”

  1. Does anyone know if I need to buy a ticket for my 4 year old to get her into Taste of Tribeca with her? She doesn’t need 6 plates of food she’ll just look at and say “yucky!”

  2. I have been to the other Nonna Dora’s location several times. It’s a huge win for the neighborhood.
