May 8, 2025 Events, Restaurant/Bar News
I was surprised to see a comment recently that asked if Taste of Tribeca was free and it occurred to me that maybe not everyone knows about it! So here’s a primer, as well as a list of the 40 participating restaurants — and one firehouse, which will be making chipotle carnitas tacos — below.
The 31st annual event, which takes up the entire block of Duane between Greenwich and Hudson, as well as parts of Greenwich running north, will take place Saturday, May 17, from 11:30a to 3p, rain or shine. Punch cards for $65 get you six “tastes” from booths manned by the restaurants. The funds benefit programs at PS 234 and PS 150 in Fidi. Individual tickets are available now as well as raffle tickets and premium seats, which get you seats under a tent and table service, as well as wine tastes.
A big welcome to the newest entry: Huso, the restaurant from Top Chef Buddha Lo that has taken over the former L’Angolo space.
It’s free to stroll about and catch the action — it’s a happening — plus there are free activities for kids in Duane Park as well as live music.
Among the many dishes, there will be roast leg of lamb from Pepolino; Porcini Ravioli with Truffle Cream Sauce from Max; cochinita pibil from Fonda; spicy tuna tacos from Zutto; and of course molten chocolate cake from Duane Park Patisserie.
