Seen & Heard: Tickets on sale this weekend for Dinner on Duane

DINNER ON DUANE FOR SALE SUNDAY
The Friends of Duane Park will open sales for its (now annual) Dinner on Duane on Sunday, June 1, at 9a on the dot. Set an alarm! The cost is $500 per with a limit of two seats per purchase, though you can purchase Crowd Tickets — six seats for $6000. Those are available now. There are also sponsorship opportunities starting at $1500. See all that info here. Dinner on Duane has an estimated value of $252/person. For individual ticket purchasers $248/person is eligible as a charitable deduction; for crowd purchasers the eligible amount is $4488.

130 WILLIAM WORKERS ON STRIKE
The building employees at 130 William, the super tall in Fidi designed by David Adjaye, are now on strike (they are part of 32BJ SEIU). The porters, handypersons and concierges who service the building have been fighting for a fair contract since 2023. The union reported that a majority of the building’s 200+ residents have signed a letter of support for the workers, but the condo board is not meeting the workers’ demands. Councilman Chris Marte’s office has more information.

SALSA FOR PRIDE MONTH
Battery Park City will host Las Mariquitas, New York’s queer and trans salsa band, on Saturday, June 7, 6:30p, at Espalande Plaza. The event is free but you can register here.

ONLINE AUCTION FOR THE BATTERY
The Battery has its gala in the park on June 4, but in the meantime, it has an online auction with some cool local stuff: a chess with pieces that look like the carousel; Court16 group classes; dinner at Delmonico’s.
