How to watch the fireworks at the Brooklyn Bridge and in Jersey

The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will launch from four barges positioned along the lower East River between Pier 17 & the Downtown Manhattan Heliport tonight. Those are scheduled to start around 9:15p and will last about 30 minutes, ending shortly before 10p. See the map above for the entrance points. Pedestrians will be directed from the entrance at Pearl Street and Robert Wagner Place to viewing spots along the FDR Drive:

  • Montgomery Street at Madison Street
  • Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place and Brooklyn Bridge off/on ramps
  • Broad Street at Water Street
  • ADA viewing will be available at the Murry Bergtraum Softball Field with access at Pike Slip and Cherry Street

Alcohol, backpacks, blankets, cigarettes, drones, duffle bags, e-cigarettes, large bags, large coolers, large packages, lawn chairs, motorized scooters, umbrellas, and weapons will NOT be permitted into the public viewing locations. Spectators viewing from New York City are subject to search by NYPD.

But J. sent a note that there will also be fireworks in Jersey City by the world-renowned Fireworks by Grucci starting a t9:25p and launching from the water just in front of the Exchange Place station — exactly across from the Irish Hunger Memorial. This should make for a great show from Rockefeller Park, the Battery and Piers 25 and 26…
