Few specifics — but pictures! — on the restaurant coming to Azabu

The press folks who represent the new tenants at the Sushi Azabu space — at 428 Greenwich and Laight– got in touch recently, providing these photos and a timeline: they will be open by the end of the year. But that’s all the information they could provide for now.

It’s a bit disappointing when the concept or vision is simply “high end.” But let’s hope they are putting together something interesting and — must I say it — good!

The owner is Wasabi Hospitality, which has The Joyce, a steakhouse in Miami’s South Beach that has an appealing review on The Infatuation, calling it sexy and expensive: “The food is detailed, the service is skilled, and it all complements a room where you can’t help but feel a little famous.” They also have Le Specialita, an import from Milan, in Miami’s Design District.

Like Sushi Azabu, this space is two levels — ground floor and basement — with 2800 square feet. They took a 10-year lease.

More soon when they can share the plan.

  1. I guess they didn’t do any work/change anything – it looks exactly like what Azabu was like.
