AFRO LATIN JAZZ IN ROCKEFELLER
Battery Park City will host the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance Orchestra led by Arturo O’Farrill on Thursday, July 24, as part of the River & Blues festival in Rockefeller Park. Doors open at 7, there’s a DJ at 7:15 and the performance at 8p.
BENJAMIN HIGHTOWER IN DUANE PARK
Duane Park will host Benjamin Hightower on Thursday, July 24, 6:30 to 8p, as part of its Music in the Park series. Hightower is a dynamic multi-disciplinary performer and singer-songwriter known for his appearances on America’s Got Talent — most recently on Season 20 and previously as a semi-finalist in Season 12. He has also performed the national anthem at Madison Square Garden for both NBA and NHL events and has opened twice for author David Sedaris with original work.
PERELMAN PAC 2026 SEASON IS OPEN
The Perelman Performing Arts Center has announced the new productions to take the stage in early 2026: Gems, choreographed by Benjamin Millepied (February 21-22), Trash by James Caverly and Andrew Morrill (March 7-28), and the returns of Motion/Matter: All Styles Dance Battle (March 21) and Family Day (May 30). In addition, Jennifer Nettles’ new musical GIULIA: The Poison Queen of Palermo will premiere at PAC NYC in new dates to be announced soon. And in late 2025, PAC NYC will present ICONS OF CULTURE celebrating women leaders Diane von Furstenberg, Es Devlin, Danai Gurira and Tribecan Christy Turlington Burns (October 29 – November 1) plus the Old Vic’s acclaimed production of A Christmas Carol (November 23 – December 28). FiDi Fan Page reported that Maman is coming to 71 Broadway on the corner of Rector. That makes 23 in the city!
