CB1 DISTRICT-NEEDS SURVEY
Each year community boards collect feedback from the community on what the public thinks are top priorities for the neighborhood. Completing this survey will help CB1 and the City determine budget priorities for the next budget year. I’ve got one: a new playground for Washington Market Park. Fill it out here.

BALLOON SALOON BUILDING REVEAL
It’s great to see the Balloon Saloon building, at West Broadway and Duane, fully revealed as its handsome self once again. Thanks to A. for the pic.

  1. Thank you for sharing the video I made about John! I came across your wonderful article on him a few years ago and used it for research again before our interview a few months ago. I think the work of the Tribeca Citizen is extremely important and wish there were more local papers like it in the city!

  2. We were 1995 Tribecans, late, but not too late. It was idyllic. I owned an art gallery on Reade Street for several years after September 11. It was all a life changing experience. I wish I had known John and I thank you, Joshua, for lighting up his life for us.

  3. I frequently had breakfast at the Towers Cafeteria starting in 1976. Even today The Odeon has a machine at the entrance where you can take a stub, as in the old days, which was punched when you slid your tray down the rails and pointed to the scrambled eggs. A full breakfast for under $2 as I remember.
