September 15, 2025 Restaurant/Bar News
Greca, the restaurant on Washington and Watts founded in 2018 by Tom Galis, who also had The Greek on Greenwich, reopened on Sept. 8. And it is a welcome sight. (It had closed in May.)
It is now being operated by Tom’s brother Rallis and his former wife Daphne, and Tom is there as an advisor. They team struck a deal with the landlord to keep the restaurant open until they find a permanent tenant, “instead of the space just sitting there empty,” Tom said. Agreed! Not sure a solution like that doesn’t happen more often… Plus I had forgotten how cozy it is in there.
The place was looking great! There was a time when Tom went vegetarian, but they are back to traditional Greek fare: grilled lamb chops, chicken souvlaki, grilled haloumi, lentils, salads. There are still vegan offerings on the menu. They are on Tock now and soon on Seamless.

Rallis Galis?
Let’s be kind to each other Mr. Bogardus.
There’s already enough hatred and mockery
out there.
Please support Greca – it is one of the few remaining family run spot in this neighborhood and the expanded menu is terrific.
